Israel admits its soldiers fired at car in which Hind Rajab was killed

 The Guardian:

"Israel admits its soldiers fired at car in which Hind Rajab was killed"

Kommentar i Haaretz

"Analysis

The IDF Is Finally Probing Hind Rajab's Killing. Don't Expect Accountability"

"The IDF is investigating five high-profile cases, including the killings of Hind Rajab and Palestinian paramedics. But hundreds of other incidents that raise questions about the army's rules of engagement remain unexamined"

Avslutning av artikkel i Haaretz:

"The IDF's conduct and policies governing the use of fire during the war in Gaza have permanently stained its reputation and that of the State of Israel."

IDF bygger for å bli lenge i Sør-Libanon:

"Israel Captured 230 Square Miles of Lebanon, Razed Villages and Built New Bases"

One of the areas where the IDF is operating is the town of Khiam, five kilometers north of Israel's border. The new base is being built on the site of the former Khiam Prison. After fighting resumed in March, the IDF destroyed the prison building. Satellite images from June show engineering vehicles at the site, and by July a structured military base had emerged, complete with an earthen berm, trenches that allow soldiers to move under relative cover and protective netting against explosive drones.

How Israeli settlers forced families from their homes in occupied West Bank's Jalud

"More than 50 armed settlers gathered during the latest attack on the Al-Tubasi family to force them from their homes, while the occupation army watched..."

Og settlerne tok over eiendommene.

Etnisk rensing i Jordandalen

 Haaretz 4. juli 2026

"IDF Demolishes Palestinian Homes in West Bank, Violating High Court Ruling"

"Israeli forces and three masked, plain-clothed individuals demolished Palestinian homes in the West Bank's northern Jordan Valley, despite a High Court ruling earlier this week that demolitions there must be frozen until further notice"

"Israeli authorities demolished on Thursday a Palestinian residential compound in the West Bank's northern Jordan Valley, two days after the High Court of Justice ruled to freeze demolitions in the area until further notice.

Israeli security forces and officials from the Civil Administration, Israel's governing body in the West Bank, entered the Palestinian community of Ein al-Hilweh while accompanied by three masked individuals in civilian clothes, at least one of whom was armed."

Min kommentar:

"Former Israeli army General Gadi Eisenkot has gone on record affirming long-held allegations that Israel has directly provided weapons to Syrian opposition fighters against the government of President Bashar Al-Assad."

Israel løy.

I mange år.

Men de støttet mange Al Qaida-grupperinger i Syria, heriblant Al Nusra:

Jerusalem Post 13 mars 2015:

"Report: Israel treating al-Qaida fighters wounded in Syria civil war

Nusra Front is the Sunni Muslim al-Qaida offshoot which is currently fighting the Iranian-backed axis of Bashar Assad and Hezbollah in Syria."

Men intervjuet Eisenkot ga i 2019 åpnet for sannheten.

Min kommentar 3:

Israels våpenstøtte til Nusra/Al var spesiell.

For å skule sine spor valgte IDF:

"It initially sent the rebels US-made M16 rifles that would not identify Jerusalem as the source ..."

Israeli Army Chief Discharges Ex-top Prosecutor Amid Leak Investigation: Tortur i Sde Teiman

 Haaretz 26. mai 2026

"

Israeli Army Chief Discharges Ex-top Prosecutor Amid Leak Investigation

The former military advocate general's investigation centers on suspicions that she and other senior military legal officials had illegally leaked a video showing five prison guards abusing a Palestinian detainee from Gaza at the Sde Teiman detention center

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir decided to remove former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi from service "without further delay" because of the ongoing criminal investigation against her, according to the military. The army said Zamir was also considering demoting her pending the outcome of the case.

Tomer-Yerushalmi stuck to her claim in the investigation that sharing the video with the media does not constitute a prohibited leak under the law. According to her, she was entitled to pass the video to the media, seeing as she was the highest-ranking officer in the Military Advocate General's Office. She also told investigators that she leaked the video to fend off an "improper and false campaign of delegitimization" against the unit and its personnel.

Min kommentart:

Her bildeteksten som Aftenposten gjengir:

Palestinian teen shot by IDF in November left to bleed out for almost 45 minutes — report

Times of Israel 8. februar 2026

"Palestinian teen shot by IDF in November left to bleed out for almost 45 minutes — report"

"A Palestinian teenager who was shot by the Israeli army in the al-Faraa refugee camp in the northern West Bank two months ago was left to bleed out for nearly 45 minutes, according to testimonies cited by the Haaretz daily.

Jadallah Jadallah, 14, was shot by troops on the evening of November 16, 2025. The IDF said at the time that soldiers of the Paratroopers Brigade’s reconnaissance unit opened fire on a Palestinian “terrorist who attempted to harm troops” during a raid in the area.

Haaretz publishes footage showing soldiers standing around Jadallah after he was shot, where he can still be seen moving. The video also shows a soldier placing a stone next to Jadallah’s body.

The outlet cites witnesses as saying that he was shot, at the latest, at 4:45 p.m. that day, and was only attended to by military medics at 5:28 p.m. His body was taken away from the scene at 5:35 p.m. by the army, Haaretz reports.

Responding to Haaretz, the IDF says that the claim “that the force did not provide medical treatment is false.”

“A terrorist was identified throwing a concrete block at the force, posing an immediate threat. The force fired at the terrorist to neutralize the threat, as a result of which he was wounded. After verifying that the terrorist was not carrying an explosive device on his body, the force provided him with initial medical treatment,” the military says.

The IDF says that the “claim that the force placed stones near the terrorist’s head is not known” and is under further review."

As Israel prepares to implement the ‘Gaza model’ in Lebanon, where is the international reaction?

A red-flag alert has been issued by one genocide-prevention organisation. This is not the time for empty condemnations but sanctions and arms embargos

Anyone following Israeli media discourse in recent days may be experiencing a severe case of deja vu. HELE artikkelen i Haaretz 19. mars 2026:

Do Israelis Feel Victorious After the Police Gun Down a West Bank Family?

Israel is sinking into a dangerous apathy. Who really cares about what's happening in the West Bank and Gaza Strip? Is the Palestinian issue still a decisive question in Israeli politics? Those demanding Palestinian reform as a condition for change must also look inward, at Israeli society

The killing of the Bani Odeh family – parents and two children – by Border Policemen in Tammun this week wasn't just another link in the chain of West Bank violence. It placed a mirror in front of Palestinians and Israelis alike, one that forces them to ask: "How did we get here?"

As for the Palestinians, they seem to have reached a roundabout with no exit. All three of the strategies that have defined Palestinian strategy in the past few decades have collapsed – armed struggle, diplomatic negotiations and relying on international law.

Armed struggle, which is deemed terrorism in Israel's narrative, had catastrophic effects on Palestinian society, especially after October 7. But diplomatic negotiations since the Oslo Accords haven't led to a Palestinian state. On the contrary, they turned the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority into weak, dependent organizations devoid of influence. And as for international law, it is still mainly a rhetorical tool for creating press statements.

Trapped in this triangle by Israel's military and economic superiority, the Palestinians are being worn down.

The prevailing feeling in the West Bank today isn't anger, which would lead to a desire for revenge, but exhaustion, which leads merely to an aspiration to survive. In the past, an incident like the one in Tammun would have sparked demonstrations and clashes and led to a large-scale escalation. But today, the response has been a heavy, almost apathetic silence, stemming from despair.

Israel could conclude from this that the Palestinians have been defeated. See, there's no significant resistance, no effective leadership, no international pressure. Some people will say that reality has cohered around the messianic right's vision. Others will see this as proof of the success of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's consistent policy, which was aimed at making the Palestinian problem disappear. And some will conclude that the peace bloc has definitively lost its grip on reality.

But if the Palestinians were indeed defeated, we need to ask what this "victory" actually means. Has Israel achieved stability or real security? Or has it merely preserved an explosive situation in which one side has been oppressed to the point of paralysis, while the oppressor has simply stopped asking questions?

Even if we accept the claim that the Palestinians have "never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity," that doesn't absolve Israel of responsibility for the reality it is shaping. Nor does it explain what is happening in Israeli society.

At a time when the Palestinians are fighting to survive, Israel is sinking into a dangerous apathy. Who really cares about what's happening in the West Bank and Gaza Strip? To what extent is the Palestinian issue still seen as a decisive question in Israeli politics? Who is posing these questions to candidates for prime minister? Almost nobody.

Nor does the upcoming election hold out the promise of substantive change. Even if Netanyahu doesn't form the next government, there will be no diplomatic glad tidings.

The optimists will say, "First let's replace the government, then we'll see." But the realists understand that the problem runs deeper than that. It doesn't depend solely on who the prime minister is, but also on deep-rooted processes in Israeli society – radicalization, the normalization of the occupation and apartheid and the rejection of any diplomatic solution.

Anyone who demands that the Palestinians change as a condition for changing the situation must also look inward, at Israeli society. A situation in which one nation is merely surviving while another nation's sensibilities have been blunted is no victory. It's a moral and political defeat of the stronger side
