Kritikk av BBC som ikke vil visen film fra Gaza om angrep på helsevesenet der:
"Over 400 Media Figures Urge BBC to Remove ex-Jewish Chronicle Director From Board Over Gaza Coverage"
"We are concerned that an individual with close ties to The Jewish Chronicle … has a say in the BBC's editorial decisions in any capacity, including the decision not to broadcast 'Gaza: Medics Under Fire,'" the BBC letter states, referring to a documentary that the BBC acquired then shelved, reportedly at Gibb's behest.
The film, which features first-hand accounts from Palestinian medics and documents Israeli attacks on healthcare facilities, was completed and approved internally months ago. But the BBC declined to air it, citing concerns over a "perception of partiality." According to Guardian reporting, independent production company Basement Films said it was "desperate" for the BBC to confirm a release date and apologized to the medics for the long delay.
The decision prompted an earlier open letter, signed by hundreds of cultural figures including Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, calling on the BBC to run the film. After the network ultimately dropped it, Channel 4 acquired and broadcast the documentary, saying it met all editorial and regulatory standards.
