The following was part of a speech supposed to be delivered by Israeli philosopher Omri Boehm in Weimar, Germany, as the keynote at the official commemoration marking 80 years since Buchenwald's liberation.

After heavy pressure by the Israeli embassy in Berlin, the Buchenwald Memorial withdrew its invitation from Boehm, citing an effort to keep Holocaust survivors from being drawn by the embassy into a political debate.
