I Sri Lanka har det gått fra vondt til verre.
Politiske og religiøse motsetninger har over tid gitt borgerkrig og etter hvert en politisk situasjon der familiedynastiet Rajapaksa har tilegnet seg nesten det komplette maktgrepet ved endringer i grunnloven som gir presidenten nesten ubegrenset makt:

Sri Lanka er blitt vanstyrt politisk og økonomisk:
"Severe shortages of fuel, food and medicine appear to have unified Sri Lankans against the ruling Rajapaksa family".
Nå er den politiske makten hos autoritære og religiøse nasjonalister som støtter seg på det militære.
DET er ern farlig miks.

Det ble "revolusjon" og presidenten rømte landet.
